Here at Qoola, we’ve been picking up on topping trends to find out what people want on their froyo. We love seeing fun combinations and creative mixes of flavours paired together. Here are the top 5 favorite toppings for the summer of 2016:

Acai Bowl: the Perfect Snack

Other than frozen yogurt, one of our most popular items on the Qoola menu is the Acai Bowl. For those of you who haven’t tried it yet, it’s an absolute must!

Originating from the beaches of Brazil, Acai bowls taste just like ice cream! Like it sounds, the dish is made from acai berries, a grape like fruit that can be found from acai palm trees in South American rainforests. Mashed together, the texture resembles a really thick smoothie. Unlike most acai bowls that are blended together with other fruits, ours are made purely from acai berries that are shipped directly from Brazil, and then topped with loads of granola and banana slices or your fruit of choice.

Not only is it delicious, but it’s also considered as a superfood with many health benefits such as improving mental function, helping with weight loss and digestion, and maintaining a healthy immune system.

New Frozen Yogurt Flavour for the Adventurous Foodie

There’s a new flavour on the menu, and we at Qoola can’t hide how excited we are. Branching into more adventurous territories, Qoola is now offering taro flavored frozen yogurt at select locations.

That’s right, you heard it correctly! We said “taro,” as in taro root.

With characteristics that are very similar to a potato but more unique in taste, taro is popular in southeast Asia. Some describes the taste as a mild sweet potato, with hints of vanilla and nuts, but we’ll let you be the judge.

Qoola’s Taro frozen yogurt is certified BC Kosher with no corn syrup, and made with 100% Canadian milk that is directly sourced from local farms in B.C.

Here at Qoola, we don’t use mayonnaise in any of our food items! Instead, we substitute mayo with yogurt, which fits perfectly in our sandwiches and wraps. But by substituting yogurt, you get just 10 calories and 0.2 grams of fat per tablespoon.

Yogurt still retains the tanginess and creaminess that mayo offers, but without excess fat. More importantly, the substitution is a more nutritious option.
