Frequently Asked Questions

The National Yogurt Association requires manufacturers of frozen yogurt bearing the Live and Active Cultures seal to contain 10 million cultures per gram (CPG) at the time of manufacture. Not only do we meet this requirement, but we significantly exceed this requirement! Our Qoolala Original and Green Tea yogurts contains more than 300 million cultures per gram (CPG) and our Chocolate contains approx. 100 million cultures per gram (CPG).

Q. What is yogurt?

A. Yogurt is a cultured milk product, made by adding “good bacteria” to milk. These special cultures (L. bulgaricus & S. thermophilus) ferment and transform the milk sugar (lactose) into lactic acid. That’s it!

Q. What are these cultures I keep hearing about?

A. These cultures are probiotic and when present in the intestinal tract of the human body, can help to ensure proper balance needed for optimal digestion. In other words, these cultures act as “good bacteria” in our body. Qoola is proud to say that our frozen yogurt helps maintain these great things in our body and actually helps replenish it. Now that’s a sweet deal!

Q. Which probiotic cultures does your yogurt contain?

A. L. bulgaricus, S. thermophilus, L. lactis & L. acidophilus. With all of these live and active cultures, it can:

  • Help prevent and combat digestive tract infections
  • Help boost our immune system
  • Unlike other yogurt products, we never heat treat our cultured yogurt as that would kill off the beneficial cultures. Pure body at its best!

Q. Is your yogurt fat-free?

A. Yes! Our yogurt is nonfat(Trans & Saturated Fat Free)!

Q. How many calories are in your Original and Green Tea Qoolala's?

A. Our yogurt has only 90 Calories (per 4oz. serving). Our small Qoolala is 6oz so that's only 140 calories!
